Submissions for the updated BOW

The liturgical materials in the Book of Worship serve a range of purposes:

• consecrating UCC covenantal relationships between Local Churches, Associations, Conferences, authorized ministers, and the National Setting;
• upholding UCC ecumenical ties through the sacraments and the rites of church life that we share in common with other Christians;
• witnessing to God's justice with inclusive liturgies that affirm the wholeness of people and beauty of creation;
• continuing the UCC's liturgical history and that of its denominational forebears.

Starting in July 2025, United Church Press/The Pilgrim Press will accept submissions for potential publication in the Book of Worship (Updated Edition). Writers who submit original liturgies for consideration will be asked – as part of the submission process – to identify how their submission fulfills one or more of the above purposes.

Original content that is accepted for publication in the updated Book of Worship will be subject to editing, following a signed work-for-hire agreement between the writer and United Church Press/The Pilgrim Press.
