Submissions for the updated BOW

The liturgical materials in the Book of Worship serve a range of purposes:

• consecrating UCC covenantal relationships between Local Churches, Associations, Conferences, authorized ministers, and the National Setting;
• upholding UCC ecumenical ties through the sacraments and the rites of church life that we share in common with other Christians;
• witnessing to God's justice with inclusive liturgies that affirm the wholeness of people and beauty of creation;
• continuing the UCC's liturgical history and that of its denominational forebears.

From July 2025 to December 2025, United Church Press/The Pilgrim Press is accepting submissions for potential publication in the updated Book of Worship.

To submit original material for consideration, please include the following information as a Word file attachment, emailed to office@thepilgrimpress.com:

• author bio;
• rationale for material's inclusion in the Book of Worship, with specific reference to at least 1 of the 4 purposes listed above;
• original material for consideration in its final form (not a draft or an excerpt of the proposed material).
  

Submitted materials that do not provide all required elements may not be considered by the editorial team. Submissions will be accepted until the end of December 2025 and reviewed in Spring 2026.

Original content that is accepted for publication in the updated Book of Worship will be subject to editing, following a signed work-for-hire agreement between the writer/creator and United Church Press/The Pilgrim Press.
